Succulent Repotting

Whether you have purchased your beautiful succulents from local store or online, it is always recommended to repot your succulent as soon as possible. Some nursery soil may not be suitable for current succulent growing stage or may lack of required nutrients. It’s also a good opportunity to inspect root system for potential disease and bug infection.

End of the day, it’s always a joy to treat your succulent with a great start!

General Repotting Method

This is a general repotting guidance for Succulent purchased online or in store.

Step 1.

Carefully remove the succulent from the package.

Step 2.

Gently wiggle off dead leaves, then carefully inspect plant thoroughly for potential bug infection.

Step 3.

Cut off the dead fibrous roots, only leave the strong taproots.

Step 4.

Rest your succulent in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight for 3 to 5 days before potting. This will allow root system to heal from trimming and preventing root infection.

Step 5.

Lay a layer of clay pebble at the bottle of the pot as this will help to increase air aeration and preventing root rot. Use pot mesh if your pot has a large drainage hole.

Step 6.

6. Add succulent soil mix around 1cm below the pot edge.

Step 7.

Poke a shallow hole, sit succulent in it, then gently cover the roots with more soil mix.

Step 8.

Using topping stone to settle succulent. Water after a week.
